| Anti-Cancer Substance |
Cancer in one of
its various forms now afflicts about 40% of the population by the age of 60 in the industrialized world, and this figure is
rising. Oddly enough however, cancer rates are much lower for countries where there are fewer chemicals in
the food, drink, air and soil.
Major Causes of Cancer
The American Cancer society has stated
in writing that the only causes of cancer are chemicals and radiation. Among the 10,000 chemicals permitted in our food, there
are two essential factors that will lead us directly to the main cancer-causing substances (and to avoid them). They are:
1.) The carcinogenic potential. How destructive a particular chemical is, meaning its level of toxicity, is of direct
importance. 2.) Distribution. How much of the population is being exposed to a carcinogenic substance, and how often,
are of critical importance.
What Are the Specific Causes of Cancer?
Though there are many cancer causing substances in
our food, air, land, and water today, some are worse than others, either because of their extreme toxicity, or because
of their pervasiveness. Avoiding the worst ones greatly decreases one's chances of falling victim to cancer.
Among the worst offenders on both accounts are the coal tar dyes. These dyes come from coal tar, which comes from either
coal or petroleum. In reality, most of the coal tar dyes today come from the petroleum extract called phenol. Phenol
is used to make pesticides, varnish, and food dyes. It works like this; from petroleum they take coal tar,
and from coal tar, phenol; from phenol, the food dyes, aka the food colorings used on most cakes, in some soft drinks,
etc.
What Does Coal Tar Look Like?
It may seem hard to believe that from something that is black in color, such as coal tar, that all the colors
of the rainbow can be found within it. Have you ever seen gasoline spilled on the concrete? If so, did you happen to notice
that when the sunlight hit it, you could see many different colors? Well, it's the same idea with coal tar dyes. The manufacturing
industry is able to extract these colors from coal tar, and they use them in the food industry.
The
American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society itself has recognized that phenol, aka coal tar dyes
are among the worst carcinogens. As a matter of fact they have published a brochure that states that coal tar is one
of the known causes of cancer. The brochure talks about the danger of skin cancer from contact with coal tar dyes.
The skin is much tougher and more resistant than the tissues inside the body, so it is clear that the coal tar based
food dyes are a major threat to health.
How to Recognize Coal Tar Food Coloring?
Coal tar dyes are easy to recognize in food products, but of course that requires
reading the labels, which most people don't do. In products from the U.S. they are listed as a color followed by
a number usually, such as Red #40, Red #3, Yellow #5, Blue #3, etc. Sometimes the label
will have Blue Lake #3, and the word lake is an indication that the food coloring also has aluminum, which
brings its own set of problems.
A different system of indicating products that have food dyes is used
in Europe, with what are called the E Numbers. More on these in the next update.

Sodium Nitrite and Sodium Nitrate
Two other highly carcinogenic substances are sodium nitrate (which changes into
sodium nitrite upon contact with the air) and sodium nitrite. These are substances
used to preserve delicatessen meats, as well as to maintain the taste and color, in meats such as bologna, veal loaf,
mortadella, salami, and others of this kind. These meats stay under refrigeration for months at a time, so sodium
nitrite is used to prevent the formation of bacteria. Additionally, manufacturers say that people have come to
expect the flavor and color of these meats (this is the chicken and egg dilemma, revisited; i.e. which came first?). The
problem is that as sodium nitrite mixes with the stomach acids, it is converted into one of the most carcinogenic substances
known to man: nitrosamines.

The Good News, Relatively Speaking
The good news is that the highly carcinogenic effect of sodium nitrite can be mostly
nullified, i.e. eliminated by consuming a drink with high amounts of vitamin C at the same meal. Apple juice, grape
juice, orange juice, and grapefruit juice are just a few examples of juices that are high in vitamin C. The good news
is also that manufacturers of these meat products can use alternative substances, which are much less harmful, or not harmful
at all, such as citric acid.
Natural Cures for Cancer
The reality is that there are certain natural substances that have
the ability to heal cancer, and we will examine a few of them here. Thousands of people have been healed using
natural substances that are not part of the current mainstream approach employing mostly radiation and chemotherapy;
"cures" that are worse than the disease. Flor Essence, pictured here, and Essiac, have a long history
of successful treatment of even the most severe cases of all types of cancer. Below you will find links to sites which
present legitimate information about Essiac, as it was originally known. Flor Essence is produced by a different company,
and the company has added a few other ingredients.

Hydrazine Sulfate
Hydrazine sulfate has been known for some years to be an effective treatment for
cancer, but unfortunately this information has not made its way to the mainstream of society. Hydrazine sulfate is also
known as laetrile, and it was originally, and hopefully still is taken from the pit of the
fruit called aprIcot. It provides among other things, a vitamin, called vitamin
B17, which is no longer found in most diets worldwide (the long-lived Hunza people are a notable exception), and which
is one of the key substances in fighting cancer. There are many websites with further information on hydrazine sulfate.
A few of them will be listed here, though you will have to copy the links and paste them in the address line of your browser,
or put them in a Google search, because I have not had time to contact the site owners for permission to link to
their sites. (It is customary practice to request permission to link to other sites.) Websites:

Acceptable Risk Policy of the FDA
First of all, let's take
a look at the policy in place which permits cancer causing substances in our food supply. The Food and Drug Administration
of the United States is the federal agency tasked with controlling which substances are permitted in the food supply in the
U.S. There is a policy that they use which is called the 'Acceptable Risk' policy. Essentially it means that if
not more than one person in one million will likely end up suffering or dying from cancer because of a particular permitted
substance, this is considered to be an acceptable risk.
A
Flawed Policy
One huge flaw in this policy however is the fact
that known carcinogenic substances which are permitted in the food supply are not just a single occurrence, but rather any
person may end up consuming 10 or 20 items with the same carcinogen in any given day. This then is not a slight exposure to
the cancer causing substance, but rather a serious health threat.
How Can Companies Solve this Problem?
The most important thing that companies can do to move away from carcinogenic
food dyes is to switch to natural food colors, of which there are many. There is no need to have an increase in the
cost of the food product with natural food colors, because the substances used can be produced very inexpensively in many
countries around the world. A few of the natural food items that can be used to produce food colors are:
+ Grapes: Blue and Purple
+ Blueberries: Blue and Purple
+ Cranberries: Red, Orange
+ Raspberries: Red
+ Dandelion: Yellow
+ Chamomile: Yellow
+ Saffron: Yellow
+ Chlorella: Green
+ Spirulina: Green
These are just a few of the hundreds of natural food dyes that can be used in industry in place of the cancer-causing
petrochemical food dyes now used.
What's Wrong With the Current Approach to Treating Cancer?
Cancer treatment in the industrialized world consists of using substances
that are very destructive to the body, and which have lasting harmful effects. In fact many of the people who survive
the treatment of cancer, die from the permanent damage done to the body from the use of radiation and chemotherapy.
These are clearly treatments which do more harm than good, and are themselves the cause of many needless deaths. A
man who knows this only too well is author/researcher Ralph W. Moss. He worked for the Sloan Kettering Memorial
Cancer Research Institute for a number of years, and has some very revealing comments in his book entitled "The Cancer Syndrome".
He has a wide number of other publications, and his web site can be found at:
