Fluoride / Sodium Fluoride
Strange, Very Strange Indeed................Hmmmm.......

Every one of us consumes water in the form of juice, tea, coffee, soft drinks, soups,
water itself, and in other forms. We also bathe or shower with it, and it is thus absorbed by the skin further, just as lotions
and creams used on the skin are absorbed through the pores. Currently in many countries throughout the world, sodium fluoride
is being added to water used for drinking and other purposes. Fluoridated water is also being used to irrigate the crops we
eat, and being absorbed by the plants through their roots, further increasing our intake of sodium fluoride. Many types of
toothpaste also have sodium fluoride added. It is added to drinking water to reduce dental cavities, in the amount of 0.7
to 1 part per million. 1 part per million is about the same as 1 drop in 20 gallons. A 2% solution is applied directly to
teeth.

There are a few things you should know about sodium fluoride. The Merck Index, published by Merck and Co., Inc., is a highly
trusted publication for "chemists, pharmacists, physicians, and members of allied professions". The Merck Index says that
the water-based form of sodium fluoride cannot be stored in glass containers, because it will corrode them. Sodium fluoride
has also been sold as a household insecticide, particularly for roaches and ants, and in other pesticide formulations. It
has been used for disinfecting the fermentation apparatus in breweries and distilleries, which is therefore another source
of consumption of sodium fluoride.

Regarding the toxicity of sodium
fluoride, the Merck Index further states that severe symptoms result from ingestion of 250 milligrams to 450 milligrams. That's
about the amount that would fit in one gelatin capsule. Death occurs from 4 grams, which is equivalent to about 8 gelatin
capsules. The extremely serious aspect of sodium fluoride however is what it does in sublethal amounts. Sublethal refers to
any amount that is not capable of directly and immediately killing a person and the amounts placed in our drinking water therefore
qualify as sublethal. The results of sublethal doses are: nausea and vomiting, abdominal distress, diarrhea, stupor and weakness.
None of these is to be taken lightly. The fact that sodium fluoride causes stupor in very small doses means that it affects
the brain and impairs the ability to think. This can result in confusion, disorientation, forgetfulness, inability to concentrate,
and many other symptoms.

Many people daily perform jobs in which the lives of others are in their hands, as
do pilots, air traffic controllers, mass transit employees, and others. Driving a car for example, demands mental alertness
and clarity. The Merck Index also states that chronic (meaning long term) exposure
to sodium fluoride causes a mottling of tooth enamel. It permanently stains the teeth. Osteosclerosis is another condition
that is a result of ingesting sodium fluoride. This is a hardening of the bones and a thickening in the density. The bones
become more brittle and break more easily. The lethal effects from excessive amounts of sodium fluoride, as in an acute poisoning,
are: muscular weakness, tremors, convulsions, collapse, dyspnea (difficulty in breathing), respiratory and cardiac failure
and death, according to the Merck Index.

The motivation to put sodium fluoride in public drinking water has some very strange
aspects to it. Apparently, the aluminum industry creates enormous amount of sodium fluoride
as a waste byproduct in the processing of aluminum. It has been a chronic problem for this industry to deal with the toxic chemical. Additionally, in the production of certain fertilizers, there is also a huge amount of sodium
fluoride generated as a waste product that
must be dealt with. A further peculiarity is that even the supposed 'benefit' from sodium fluoride does
nothing for anyone above 12 years of age.

The dangers of sodium fluoride have been known for many years. Germany experimented with it as a means of population control during
World War II, due to its ability to change
behavior by necrotizing, that is, killing specific areas of the brain. They abandoned the idea and banned fluoride. Scientific studies by the National Academy of Science show that sodium fluoride also slows down the body's DNA repair
mechanism, which is vitally important to
our immune system. In addition, as little as one part per million of sodium fluoride has been shown in laboratory experiments to produce cancer. The American
Academy of Science studies as far back as 1963 demonstrated in laboratory
animals, that melanoma type
cancer increased from 12% to 100% with even extremely low doses of sodium fluoride. This chemical also interferes with the body's ability to produce neurotransmitters, which are essential for
the functioning of the nervous system. Insufficiency of these neurotransmitters points to problems such as seizures, strokes and other types of brain damage. Other
effects of fluorides observed in the laboratory are: sudden mood changes, severe headaches, hallucinations, night twitching, irregular breathing (affecting asthmatics,
etc.), damage to fetuses, and cancer of various types.

Public health officials, politicians at all levels, business men and women, and other
people who determine public policy must
be made aware of this information. Where the public health is concerned, politics must be set aside. The vast majority of all drinking water, including bottled water of all kinds, now
has varying amounts of sodium fluoride. Additionally, millions of tons are being dumped annually into rivers, lakes, the oceans
and the atmosphere. We do not need it to be added to our drinking water. It is true that we consume other poisons also, but
clearly there is a desperate need to establish priorities. Fluoride is a waste product that confers no benefit to anyone over
12. Its highly poisonous nature negates any possible benefit to persons of any age.
What Can You Do?
There are a number
of things that you can do to reduce your exposure to fluoride.
1) Use toothpaste that does NOT have fluoride.
Many toothpastes from India are Ayurvedic products and do not have fluoride.
2) If you use mouthwash, also look for non-fluoride products.
3) Ask to speak with the manager in supermarkets that don't have
non-fluoride products such as toothpaste and mouthwash.
4) If you buy drinking water, check to see if it has fluoride added.
If there is a choice, use the one without added fluoride, or with the least amount.
5) Share this information with others. The more people that become
aware of the dangers of fluoride, and the more people that ask for products free of fluoride, the greater the chance
that this will come about.
